About Melynda Madrid:
I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State University. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with the New Mexico Counseling and Regulation Board.
I have experience and training in assisting clients with various difficulties including stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, identity issues, and more.
I draw from many different counseling theories and techniques because I believe therapy should be tailored to each individual client. In addition to talk therapy, I also utilize art and sand tray therapy depending on the needs and comfort of my client. I am proud to say I am a native New Mexican and have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults and families for over ten years in New Mexico as a mental health therapist.
Along with being a private practitioner, I have worked as a middle/high school counselor giving me a unique perspective on the challenges and educational struggles faced by students and parents.
